Short On Time...

With summer here, and the sun in the sky, I seem to have no time to get on the computer and post anything. And when I do, it seems like I'm waisting valuable time that I should be spending outside. But anyway, here I am to tell you about the great Canada day weekend my family and I had. It started with the local car show on Friday, where my wife and I entered our toys in to support the local car club (her VW bus and my chopper). Not expecting anything more than spending the day with friends at the show and around town, We both ended up winning in our classes.
After the show, we hopped in the bus and headed south to catch the fire works show in Edmonton. After a half hour of non stop explosions in the sky, we bedded down for the night.
The next morning we headed east to go rafting in the Pembina river. While waiting our turn to float down the river, we hit the local flea market. Amongst the piles of junk, I found a little box of treasure, a bunch of old Iron Horse and The Horse mags. That's right, the all time best rag out there. So, as my daughter played on the beach, I had some classic Horse to read. I love the old ads, Oh yeah!
After my wife and daughter had thier fun on the beach, we headed in to town and found a restaurant that serves up a one pound hamburger that was worth the trip alone. It took some time, but I drove that one Pounder in to me and got down a piece of homemade chocolate cake as well.
Once the bill was paid, it was back in the bus and head north for home. a few short hours later we pulled into Athabasca, just in time to catch the final act of the Canada day week end, Magnificent River Rats Festival, TROOPER! The perfect first rock show for my six year old daughter, classic rock, tame crowd and she loved it. All in all, the perfect long week-end.

New Tank For Brad The Nomad...

With a new riding season here, and trips being planned. Our Friend Brad was looking for a way to get more fuel in his bike with out strapping on an auxiliary tank on it or packing it on his back in fuel cells. So, the build is on to make a bigger tank for his bike. The original tank has a cool design with a hidden compartment for the battery and some of the wiring in the front section, but at a cost of fuel capacity. With the original tank holding just under a gallon and a half, we're going to try and double that, and not lose the clean look of the bike. Here's a few pics of the start of the tunnel and battery box, stay tuned for more...
